The East Atlantic Flyway (EAF) is a major migration route for millions of birds, particularly waders and shorebirds, that travel between breeding grounds in the Arctic (including Eurasia and North America) and wintering grounds in Western and Southern Africa.
Peter Penning joined us over video link for this interesting and enlightening talk which included how plumage changes over the journey; the problems the migrating birds face because of competition for food; the vital stop-off locations; disturbance due to flightpaths and oil and gas drilling, and more.
